Peppermint is a hybrid plant resulting from a cross between spearmint and water mint and it has a characteristic fresh and minty smell. It is a herbaceous plant that grows in temperate oceanic climates, which makes it easily cultivable.

If the essential oil must absolutely be used locally, its hydrosol, meanwhile, is much easier to use but still has some contraindications.
