The Easter holidays are fast approaching and, on this occasion, we have decided to prepare some activities to do with the children during these 15 days of vacation.

For the 1ʳᵉ activity, we made homemade modeling clay! Easy to make, it is also 100% natural. We are sure that you already have everything in your cupboards to make it. This edible homemade modeling clay recipe, so don't worry if the children put it in their mouths (but given the ingredients in it, not sure they'll like the taste)!

For the color, we have selected superfoods that will fill this function beautifully!

Color guide:

You will get beautiful pastel colors by mixing superfoods into your homemade modeling clay. Modulate the shades by adding more or less powder to your dough.

  • Green: Spirulina
  • Yellow: Turmeric
  • Beige : Guarana
  • Purple / blue: Acai

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda  or baking powder
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Natural powder dyes: Spirulina , Turmeric , Acai ,  Guarana

Steps :

  • In a saucepan, put all the dry ingredients (even the coloring powder if you put some) and mix.
  • Add the oil and water, then put the pan on low heat while stirring.
  • Mix until the dough begins to pull away from the edges of the pan.
  • Knead the dough to form one or more balls.
  • Repeat with another color.

If the modeling clay is too sticky, add a little flour and if, on the contrary, it seems too dry, moisten it a little.

Conservation :

To keep the modeling clay as long as possible, keep it in an airtight container. If it starts to dry out, wet it a bit to make it more malleable.
