Today is laundry day Cindy. We show you how to do your homemade laundry, with 3 ingredients and for close to 1 euro! Result: you save money, your laundry comes out just as clean as with traditional detergent, the planet and your health are all the better for it!

Unlike many homemade laundry detergent recipes, this one doesn't have the downside of going solid over time. On the other hand, it is better to shake it before each use to keep the mixture as homogeneous as possible and thus prevent it from "dephasing".

Come on, let's go for the production of your homemade laundry!

Ingredients for the recipe:

• 60 grams of soap shavings
• 1.5 liters of water
• 1 to 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
• 15 drops of  lavender essential oil  (optional)

Steps :

• Boil 1.5 L of water.
• In a container, for example, your old detergent container (minimum 2L to be able to mix the detergent well), put the soap shavings.
• Pour hot water over the shavings and wait until they are well dissolved. Shake gently to speed up mixing. (be careful not to burn yourself)
• Once the preparation is homogeneous and cooled, add the alcohol vinegar and the essential oil of lavender.

You can also put hydrolat to perfume your laundry (it's even more ecological!)

Manual :

• Stir the detergent well before using it.
• Put a cap of detergent on each machine.

Frequently asked questions about home laundry detergent.

Is homemade laundry detergent eco-friendly?

Absolutely. On the one hand, because it contains only 3 ingredients and on the other hand, because they are natural. So be careful to choose quality ingredients before doing your laundry. In particular, "all-in-one" laundry kits which may contain various components including preservatives for example.

Is homemade detergent good for my washing machine?

It all depends on the ingredients used. For example, Marseille soap-based detergents tend to solidify and can clog your washing machine, especially if it is not maintained regularly. Indeed, Marseille soap contains olive oil, hence the fact that the detergent tends to solidify on standing.

The soap used here is based on sunflower oil, this homemade detergent recipe will not solidify and therefore does not clog the washing machine.

How to maintain your washing machine?

We invite you to run your machine empty at 90°C by putting white vinegar in the detergent compartment once every 2 months or so.
