Ravintsara essential oil is the essential oil to have in your wardrobe during the winter months. Originally from Madagascar, its name means "tree with good leaves". This essential oil will heal your many ailments during these colder months. 

Its main properties:

Ravintsara essential oil has a high concentration of eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol, which gives it many properties. It will have an antiviral action and a stimulating effect on the immune system:

  • It stimulates the immune system
  • Antiviral, it acts against viruses
  • Antibacterial, it acts against bacteria
  • Expectorant, it facilitates breathing
  • It boosts the nervous system (parasympathetic)

  • Nervous tiredness
  • Sleep disorder

Contraindications:

Ravinstara essential oil is contraindicated for:

  • Pregnant and breastfeeding women
  • Children under 3 years old
  • People with epilepsy

Uses:

Here are some examples of Ravintsara essential oil uses:

  • In diffusion during periods of epidemics: a few drops in a cold essential oil diffuser. No more than 10 drops. If you don't have a diffuser, you can put the drops in a cup on a radiator.
  • In massage along the spine and inside the wrists in case of virus or to strengthen your immunity (to be diluted in vegetable oil). No more than 5 drops per day. 
  • Massage of the arch of the foot and the solar plexus in the evening before going to bed to facilitate sleep.
  • Internally, in case of viruses and bacteria to be mixed with a spoonful of honey or on a neutral tablet. No more than 9 drops per day.
