World Cleanup Day

The " World Cleanup Day " represents the world day of cleaning up our planet and this year it falls on September 17, 2022! This global event aims to bring together as many people as possible to clean up our planet.

A little chronological point:

It all started in 2007 with Rainer Nölvak who created the Let's do it! in Estonia. The following year, 4% of the Estonian population (50,000 volunteers) cleaned up the country in a few hours. The model was thus born. The goal: succeed in bringing together 5% of the population to clean up their country in 1 day.

In 2012, the Let's do it! takes on an international dimension and is exported all over the world. This is where World Clean Up Day was born.

  • The 1st World Clean Up Day took place on September 15, 2018 and brought together 18 million people in 158 countries.
  • The 2nd (September 21, 2019) brought together 20 million people in more than 180 countries. A record!
  • The 3rd (September 19, 2020) managed to bring together 11 million people in 166 countries. A significant figure despite the health crisis. This is how the Digital Clean Up Day was born.
  • The 4th (September 18, 2021) mobilized 8 million volunteers in 191 countries.

What if this year we broke the 2019 record by all mobilizing to clean up our planet?

Mobilization at Essence Box:

Of course, we wanted to take part in this very important day for us. So we mobilized with the Essence Box team and our colleagues from C Liquide France to clean up our village.

And after ?

We will certainly not stop there. Regularly, we will clean strategic places (park, forests,...) and we will not do it alone. Actions are planned with schools and outdoor centers to take the children with us. We will communicate on each event that we do and we would be delighted if you came with us.

If you ever want to participate in a cleanup near you, we give you the link to the World Cleanup Day . Don't hesitate to participate or, why not, organize a pick-up yourself!

Together we can make things happen!
