Anhydrous Edible Citric Acid

You must have heard of citric acid before. Indeed, it is very common in most grandmothers' recipes. Natural and odorless acidifier: it is a real all-purpose product. It is inexpensive and much healthier than most "all-in-one" products for an action just as, sometimes even more effective!

Whether it is to wash the floor, descale the taps or remove rust, it is unbeatable! Being able to act as an antibacterial and a fungicide, it is ideal for the bathroom.

The citric acid from Naturasphere that we offer is food-grade, which means that it can also be used in cooking to benefit from its anti-oxidant properties on vegetables for example , or to add to your confectionery or drink adding a little tangy touch!

Cooking uses

If you're wondering how to use citric acid in cooking, here are some of its uses:

  • Jam: Add 1 teaspoon per kilo of fruit at the end of cooking to help the jam "set".
  • Sauces: Acidify your sauces by adding a little citric acid (adjust according to your taste).
  • Preservative: citric acid will limit the development of micro-organisms.
  • Antioxidant: Add a citric acid skin to your fruit salads, compote or guacamole to prevent them from turning black.
  • Flavour enhancer: It will enhance the taste of your dishes (adjust according to your taste).

Home Uses

For home maintenance, it is one of the essential products that makes up most cleaning and descaling recipes.

  • Descale a kettle: Put 1 tablespoon of citric acid in a liter of water and boil. Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse.
  • Clean your stainless steel pans and saucepans: Dissolve 2 tablespoons of citric acid in a cup of water then pour the contents into a dish. Heat for a few moments and the deposit will go away. Rinse well afterwards.
  • Cleanser / descaler: In a spray bottle, dissolve 4 tablespoons in 1L of hot water. You can add 5 drops of essential oils (Tea Tree or Lavender). Apply the product to the area to be cleaned, leave to act for a moment then rub lightly. Rinse with water and wipe with a dry cloth to remove any traces.
  • Anti-rust: In 1L of water, dissolve 4 tablespoons of citric acid. Dip your object in the solution and in just a few minutes the rust will be gone.

Composition:

100% anhydrous citric acid (EC 201-069-1).

Storage Tip:

Store in a dry place. Close the bag tightly after use.

Precautions for use:

Do not apply citric acid to enamel, aluminum or marble. Never use with bleach.

Citric acid causes severe eye irritation.

Keep out of the reach of children. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Wear eye or face equipment when handling the product.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if the victim wears them and if they can be easily removed. Continue rinsing and if eye irritation persists seek medical attention.

My contribution to the planet:

Jar and lid are reused. You can bring them back or reuse them at home. We advise you to buy the pot for the first time (if you don't have one at home) and then repot it with the kraft bags.
